Your Weight Loss System

Wednesday, October 31st, 2007

By Donovan Baldwin You didn’t plan to gain weight, but if you seriously need and want to lose weight, you will need a weight loss system. In this modern era, many of the things that helped make you gain weight will still be there before, during, and after any weight loss program you may undertake. Your weight loss journey will be along a route littered with many temptations, many of the same ones that have caused your problem in the first place. Just like any journey, you will need a map, some sort of weight loss plan, to arrive safely at your destination. Sticking with the map and journey analogy, two travelers often reach the same spot by different routes. Some have faster vehicles and shoot down the road while others want to sightsee along the way, or just don’t have cars fast enough or in good enough mechanical condition to fly like the wind. Some will be tourists, and their maps will include stops at points of interest, while others may be in a hurry and their maps will show the quickest route from point A to point B. Your weight loss plan is somewhat like that. You will have to take into account many factors, and not all will be health or fitness related. What is your schedule like? Is it hurried and rushed? Does it need to be that way? Where will you find the time to exercise? Do you have to eat out a lot? How can you get the proper food to fit your weight loss plan. Just like taking that trip requires some active planning and thought on your part, your weight loss system requires you to take an active part in its planning stages and during the weight loss process itself. However, remember that you are the one who should design the system. Not all systems will be perfect, and someone else’s system might not work for you. Also, just like the business traveler who takes a few hours off from the business demands of his or her trip and finds refreshment in a visit to a local night spot or point of interest, it might be beneficial for you to deviate once in a while, turn your back on your weight loss system and plan, and just have a good time. That is part of the reason for having a weight loss system in place. If you know that most of the time you are following the system’s guidelines and striving towards its goals, the occasional deviation will not be of great consequence and may even be beneficial in its effect. However, without the plan or system’s existence life will probably be one of constant deviation, punctuated by the occasional stab at doing the right thing. Your weight loss plan should be written down. This helps crystalize your thoughts and goals, and allows you the opportunity to remind yourself of these by a quick read-thru of your original system. Your weight loss system should not be chosen in haste or in ignorance. It is easy to choose the wrong sorts of activities, eat the wrong foods, and strive for the wrong goals if you don’t really know what you are doing. I have known instances in which people gave up on a weight loss program, even though it was working, simply because they did not understand some of the things that were happening and expected some things to be happening that really couldn’t be expected at that stage. Leaping into a weight loss program, particularly the physical activity part, without proper knowledge and preparation can at best cause the person to lose interest in the process and at worst, suffer physical injury. Many will offer you a patented, cut-and-dried weight loss system guaranteed to work. First of all, there can be no such guarantee. The results that DO occur will be directly related to a broad combination of factors including physical health at the beginning, genetic capabilities (what you inherited), personal work ethic, understanding of the program, and so on. That being said, there are some weight loss systems which have a good beginning foundation, and using one of those as a start to build your own weight loss program may be of value. Real Estate Marketing - Beef Up Your Follow-Up

Tuesday, October 30th, 2007

By Brandon Cornett If you’re a real estate agent, client follow-up should be a major part of your real estate marketing program. Whether it’s a postcard mailing program through a direct mail vendor, or just a series of well-timed thank you cards after the transaction, you need some form of follow-up. Why so important? You probably already know, but for those just joining the real estate ranks: * Proper follow-up generates repeat business by keeping you in touch with past clients. * Proper follow-up generates referrals by showing you still care after the transaction. Follow-up brings other benefits to the table, but referrals and repeat business top the list. And if you’ve read any studies on where real estate business comes from, you know how important these factors are — especially referrals. Execution So, how do you strengthen your follow-up? One way is to make it more specific to the individual client. Another way is to make it more human. Combine the two, and you’ve got a follow-up program that will maximize your referral and repeat-business rates like nothing else. First, let’s look at ways to make your follow-up program more specific to the individual. The basic execution is simple, thought it does call for a bit of note-taking during the relationship. Step 1. Keep notes on your clients. Throughout your business relationship, make notes about your clients. They might include a range of topics — hobbies, interests, decorating styles, other neighborhoods or areas they were interested in, number and age of children, future plans. You get the idea. What you’re doing is gathering useful information about your clients that will allow you to tailor specific “touches” later on when doing your follow-up. File these notes away in your customer database, filing system, or wherever else you keep client information. And remember, the easier it is to do, the more likely you’ll stick to it. So find something that works for you. Step 2. Outline your follow-up program. You need to put your follow-up program on paper for several reasons. First, the manual act of writing things down engages the creative side of your brain. You’ll be surprised at all the ideas popping into your head as you map out your follow-up program. Secondly, you need to write your program down to make sure it achieves the number of contacts or “touches” you’re striving for. Opinions vary on the number and frequency of touches. I would suggest monthly, especially in the beginning of a follow-up program (when you’re most likely to get referrals from still-happy clients). Go for a balance of automation and personal contact. Why? Because a program that’s 100% personal contact (phone calls, for example) will be exhausting to maintain. In the other extreme, a program that’s 100% automated (like a scheduled mailing program) will be too impersonal. You have to combine the two. You have the best chance of generating referrals during this first year. In the second and third years, you might choose to reduce the number of phone calls, while keeping the newsletter and auto-mailers going. Do you now see the value of collecting this information along the way? It’s invaluable later on, when you’re preparing your well-balanced follow-up program. And can you just imagine the surprise when Jane says, “Wow, she remembered that I like Feng Shui … I forgot we even talked about it!” Now that’s referral power. Step 3. Carry out your follow-up program. This is where all the previous lessons will pay off. Just by having a procedure for your newsletter and a well-managed client database with good notes, you’ve finished half of your follow-up legwork in advance. The rest is simply filling in the blanks, keeping tabs on your schedule and sending your materials out. Summary A balanced follow-up program — one that mixes personal, one-to-one contact with automated elements like postcards — gives you the best of two worlds. It’s easy enough to manage across a number of clients, while at the same time surprising your clients with specific information delivered in a personal way. What is Litigation Funding?

Monday, October 29th, 2007

By Amanda Bellview Litigation funding is a concept that most individuals that are involved in a lawsuit will find beneficial to them. It is most commonly used in personal injury cases, but can be used for any type of lawsuit in which the individual is seeking funds in a settlement for their hardships, whatever those may be. It has been used in a variety of cases from sexual harassment to worker’s compensation and many more. But, what is litigation funding and how do you know if it will benefit you? Take into consideration the number of things that it can offer to you and what will happen if you decide not to use it. Funding A Lawsuit Through A Loan Litigation funding is the process of securing a loan in order to pay for the cost of a lawsuit. It costs a good amount of money to see your lawsuit from start to finish. If you are suffering from medical problems and can not work, you probably need the funds to help you to pay your daily living expenses as well. These costs can be covered by your lawsuit loan, as they are often called. Believe it or not, these funds are available to you through litigation funding lenders, who are offering a wide range of options for those that need them. Another benefit to litigation funding is the fact that you don’t need to pay the funds back that you borrow to make these payments unless you actually win your case. When you do win your case, the settlement that you receive will be lessened the amount that you’ve borrowed to pay for your needs. But, if you lose the case or do not receive a settlement, then these funds are no longer you obligation to pay and the lender will not be able to recover them. It’s completely legal and its part of the process of securing litigation funding in the first place. Other Options? Are there are other options to consider to fund the loan that you need to pay for the lawsuit that you know you should be filing? You could use a personal loan, credit cards or your own funds to pay these things. Many people don’t have the funds necessary and they may not be able to secure these types of loans because of lack of employment or a back credit history due to the restrictions on their funds. Even if you do have these funds, you’ll be risking your own money on these expenses, which means that if you do lose the case, you are out all that you’ve invested in it. That’s an expensive risk for you to take. Working with a litigation funding firm is a good option for those that know they deserve a fair share of the settlement. If you know this and you want to secure the funds that you need to make sure that your case reaches settlement, you’ll want to consider litigation funding. It could mean funding a lawsuit that you deserve to win or giving up on it. Amanda Bellview writes to expand the question base of attorneys and litigants looking for lawsuit litigation or pre settlement funding. What is a ‘Mail Order Bride?’

Sunday, October 28th, 2007

By Irina Chernoff What does this term mean? Where does it come from? Why do dating services use this term? Lets dot our is and cross our ts once and for all! International marriages are very popular now. Though many people cant understand them. Sometimes they just need to mature for it. Nevertheless, developed communications and Internet have done their part. It has become convenient, accessible and quick to meet people from other countries. But it hasnt always been so! However, international marriages did exist. How did people meet? Here is the version of Yale Professor of History, Howard R. Lamar: At the early period of history of the USA, in California, the Chinese who found themselves there absolutely without women, started to organize marriages through go-betweens. The Frenchmen who found themselves in Louisiana among the English-speaking population organized marriage-mediation in a big way. The brides were brought for them from France. The women usually came with small boxes and due to these boxes they were named “casket-girls”. They became well-known. Later so-called mercys girls appeared. Mercy imported girls to Wyoming, Oregon and Alaska in vans. But these potential brides turned out to be surprising. They started their businesses at the West stores, sewing workshops, kitchens, and the marriage-intermediary didnt work out. And the opposite example. To the far west women were brought to brothels from Germany and France. Many of them were prostitutes in Europe, but in a new, big and rich country they realized that they could start a new life and they scattered, dispersed in the environment and married farmers. It was about this time that the term “mail-order brides” appeared. Here is how the history of its origin is explained in Answers.com: The term probably originated during the colonial period when men traveled through various empires for financial gain. After establishing their income in a new colony they faced three choices: - stay single, - marry a local indigenous woman or, - seek to have an available woman come from the metropolitan centre; or in the case of economic immigrants that came from an economically depressed region to seek employment, from their mother country. Often these marriages were arranged by members of the immigrants family ‘back home’ and the relatives picked amongst available women to find one that would suit their family member thus they would negotiate with the woman before she left with her belongings (and perhaps with her children if she was a widow). Often these women were willing to travel for marriage because of the limited opportunity in their place of origin. This tradition continues amongst first generation immigrants to western countries, most particularly amongst Pakistani, Bangladeshi and East Indian males and females who wish to marry someone of similar social, economic and educational status; indeed many marriages are arranged in India and the bride and groom may not have much if any opportunity to court before the marriage ceremony is conducted. During the twentieth century this tradition has been used for a (in some ways) similar, yet very different social phenomenon, that of a western male, usually second or third generation immigrant himself, seeking a woman from a more ‘traditional’ or non-western culture. For whatever reason, these men seek out women from various countries, most notably economically depressed parts of the world, such as countries in the Commonwealth of Independent States like Russia, Ukraine, Belarus and the other central Asian - stans, or from cultures where femininity is still encouraged and women are expected to take care of their husbands and engage in housekeeping, child rearing and other domestic chores. It was in regard to the history of terms. However, international acquaintances became that popular during 1980-es. Telephone, fax, photos, catalogues. Like some food you choose one out of thousands women, make an order, pay by a credit card and she is coming over through Fed Ex in a big wooden crate ;) I dont know, guys, how effective this way was and how many positive stories can be told to advocate this way of acquaintance today. Still there are agencies that stick to this way. HOW DO THEY WORK? As a rule, at their sites there are thousands of women. 20-30 thousand is a norm. A huge catalogue, choose any. You can buy her contact information and correspond with her on your own, or can use the agencys service for it. The main difference of this kind of agencies from dating services like ours (and their main minus) is that women are only pages of a catalogue for them: faceless, nameless goods. The agencies like ours work with each woman personally! We not only know her by sight, but also checked her passport information, we know if she is well or ill at the moment, if she is in the city or left on business or holiday. We know some details of her life because we often talk to her at the office. We are more than marriage go-between for a woman. We are consultants, friends and psychologists. It is normal! So we can say with confidence: we answer for each woman of our agency! Can an agency that has 20 thousand women say it? Why then you can find our site on request mail order brides in search services like www.google.com? Unfortunately, this term is too loved by journalists and this is why it is so popular. And often, when talking about the bride from abroad, someone uses the term mail order brides, actually having no idea about the details of the process. So we have to use it in order than men who are interested in foreign brides get to our site. Why unfortunately? Because this term humiliates women! They find it very insulting that someone can think them to be goods that can be ordered by catalogue. The man who respects his bride will never allow himself, his relatives and friends to use this word. This term is also very loved by American feminists. They say to American men: first you order wonderful, tender mail order brides and then we have to defend them from you! :)) So Id like to sum up: Mail order brides is the term that can mislead you, because it is a well-promoted brand. We cant send you a bride by mail, but we can acquaint you with real women who want to make a family. Feel the difference :) Irina Chernova I am 28 years old Russian female, working in dating field for almost 7 years and my specialty is dating articles for ChanceForlove Russian Dating Services Article Source: http://EzineArticles.com/?expert=Irina_Chernoff http://EzineArticles.com/?What-is-a-Mail-Order-Bride?&id=111538 order valium no prescription buy xanax and valium online viagra online shop anxiety buy diazepam to mail order valium

Making Marriage Work, Part 1

Saturday, October 27th, 2007

By Margaret Paul, Ph.D. (This is part 1 of a 5-part series on making marriage work) It was Joan’s first counseling session with me, but it didn’t take long before the tears began to stream down her cheeks. I’m married to the man of my dreams, but I’m miserable, she said, reaching a hand up to wipe away her tears. We were so in love and now things are falling apart. We are fighting and distant much of the time. I love Justin and I don’t want to lose him, but I don’t know what to do. I don’t know why this is happening. I seem to be getting angrier and angrier and he is getting more and more distant. What are you angry about? I inquired. Justin keeps pulling away from me. He’s working longer and longer hours. But even on the weekends when he is home, he just seems to be distant. He’s either watching TV, playing computer games, or in the garage working in his workshop. When I try to talk with him about it, he shuts down even more. We can’t talk at all anymore. Like Joan and Justin, many couples are stuck in a dysfunctional relationship system, wondering what happened to the love and passion they had at the beginning of their relationship. Two major fears may be undermining your relationship with your partner: Fear of rejection: the loss of another’s love through anger, judgment, emotional withdrawal, physical withdrawal, or death. Fear of engulfment: the loss of self through being controlled, consumed, invaded, suffocated, dominated, and swallowed up by another’s demands. Until these fears are healed, you will likely react defensively whenever they are triggered. Joan reacted by getting angry when her fears of rejection were activated, while Justin withdrew when his fears of engulfment were triggered. You might react in different defensive ways, but the result will be the same - your reactive behavior coming from your fears of rejection or engulfment will trigger your partner’s fears of rejection or engulfment. Now both of you are acting out of fear. Together you have created an unsafe space where love and intimacy will gradually erode. Most of us have not learned to stay open when our fears of being rejected, abandoned, engulfed, or controlled are triggered. If, when these fears are activated, you focus on who is at fault or who started it, you perpetuate the problems. Blaming your partner for your fears, as well as for your own reactive, unloving behavior, makes the relationship feel unsafe. You both end up feeling badly, each believing that your pain is the result of your partner’s behavior. You feel victimized, helpless, stuck, and disconnected from your partner. You desperately want your partner to see what he or she is doing that (you think) is causing your pain. You think that if your partner only understands this, he or she will change - and you exhaust yourself trying to figure out how to MAKE your partner understand. Over time, passion dries up. Superficiality, boredom, fighting, and apathy take its place. The dual fears of LOSING THE OTHER through rejection and LOSING YOURSELF through being swallowed up by the other are the underlying cause of unloving, reactive behavior. These fears are deeply rooted. They cannot be healed or overcome by GETTING someone else’s love. On the contrary, you must heal these fears before you can SHARE love - give and receive love - with your partner. The key to doing this is learning how to create a safe inner space where you can work with and overcome your fears of rejection and engulfment. In this series, I will show you a powerful six-step process you can use to create and maintain the inner safety you need to become strong enough to love. Only when you have achieved inner safety and inner strength can you create a safe relationship space. Joan gradually learned to stop attacking Justin and take loving care of herself whenever her fears of rejection surfaced. She learned to create inner safety when she felt threatened rather than trying to get Justin to make her feel safe from her fears. You can do this too. In fact, any two people who are willing to learn to create their own inner sense of safety can also learn to create a safe relationship space where their intimacy and passion will flourish and their love will endure. The rest of the articles in this series will lead you through this six-step healing process. Marketing Lessons From Amazon

Friday, October 26th, 2007

By Cathy Stucker You may not have the funds to build an e-commerce system on the scale of Amazon, but there are several lessons you can learn from them that will help you sell more, online and offline. Make it easy to buy. Amazon pioneered One Click Ordering, where customers shipping and credit card information is stored for future purchases. They make it easy to buy without pulling out your wallet and inputting a lot of data. Can you set up accounts or keep customer billing information available so they can buy with a phone call or a signature? Get others to sell for you. Amazon.com Associates was the first online affiliate program. Associates link from their Web sites to Amazon.com, and they are paid commissions for the sales they refer. Today, more than 900,000 Web sites send customers to Amazon.com. You can implement your own affiliate program with inexpensive software, or by using one of many services that will administer your program for you. Offline, reward customers who send new business your way with free products or services. Show related products. While shopping at Amazon, you will see suggestions such as Customers who bought this item also bought . . . Make displays of related products in your retail location, group products and accessories in your catalog, and list product suggestions on Web pages. Provide customized information. Amazon remembers what you buy and even the products for which you have shopped. Your shopping habits are used to provide personalized recommendations when you arrive at Amazon.com. You may be able to use features in your online shopping cart to make upsells based on the item purchased. Send e-mails or postcards to customers who bought certain products when you have a new product or service that might interest them. Encourage the growth of community. Customers can post reviews to any product page on Amazon.com. Want to recommend a favorite product, or warn others about a dud? Post a review. Although the system isnt perfect, you can get a lot of good information from customer reviews, and the availability of this information encourages customers to shop at Amazon. A user group or online forum can make customers feel a part of your community. Do what you do best. If you visit Borders.com, you will discover that it is run by Amazon.com. Borders decided that they did not want to reinvent the wheel when it came to e-commerce, and turned over their Web site to Amazon so they could focus on their brick and mortar stores. You can learn from both sides of this relationship. If something doesnt fit with your core business, outsource it. If there is something you do very well, consider offering the service to others, even your competitors. Everyone wins. Although you may not (yet) be a giant, you can learn lessons from the giants such as Amazon.com. Apply them to your business and increase your profits. Copyright Cathy Stucker. Fishing Lure Information Article

Thursday, October 25th, 2007

By Christopher Jones Fishing lures are a key aspect of fishing and without them your chances of successfully catching a fish greatly diminish. Few fish will decide to come towards and bite a sharp shinny hook, while the vast majority of the fish will sense danger and swim away. Therefore it is very important that you have a way to attract the fish to your hook. There is a huge variety of different lures to choose from. Even with all the high tech products on the market which you can put on the hook in order to catch fish, I actually prefer to stick to the traditional way, the plastic worm. All that needs to be done is to gather a set of worms that can be found at any fishing store, place them in your tackle box with the rest of your fishing supplies, and attach one of the worms to your hook and fish. By placing your worm on the hook, fish will be more attracted to it and the catch of successfully catching a fish greatly increases. If youre really feeling adventurous you can even rub worm oil on your plastic worm to make it more realistic to the fish. Fishing lures and a tackle box to store all your fishing supplies greatly aids one in his or her quest to catch a fish. Chris Jones is the director at The Fishing Lure. But cosmetic surgery is highly expensive; you may not be able to afford so big an amount at a time. Then the best option is a cosmetic surgery loan. The most important benefit of this loan is the low rate of interest. Other benefits of a secured cosmetic surgery loan are big amount, small monthly repayment installments, and a repayment period stretched over a long time. But there is a risk factor in this loan. In case you fail to pay off the loan the collateral you offer will be seized by the lender to recover his money. For an unsecured cosmetic surgery loan you will not require offering collateral. Wedding Cake Glossary of Terms

Sunday, October 21st, 2007

By Eriani Doyel If you will be getting married, you may want to be familiar with wedding cake terms before you visit the baker or confectioner who is making your cake. Here are some of the more common wedding cake terms and their meanings: Wedding Cake Parts and Shapes: Tier: This is one level of the cake-(i.e. a 3 tier cake.) Layer: A horizontal piece of the cake. Often the wedding cake layers are baked in separate pans and then one or more are combined to make a tier. Round: A cylinder shaped cake. This is the most traditional shape for a wedding cake. Square: A more modern shape for a cake-very geometrical-tiers can be placed at odd angles for an even more modern touch. Hexagon: A six-sided wedding cake can be very trendy and fashionable. Scalloped: The edges of the tiers are shaped much like flower petals for a very casual look. Molded: The cake is shaped like a football or some other object-this is often used for the grooms cake. Frosting and Filling Terms: Fondant: A sheet like sugar dough that hardens over time and is good for an outdoor wedding cake because it will not melt. It is very smooth in texture and can be made in one of three forms: rolled into sheets, poured over the top, or sculpted into shapes. Buttercream: The traditional wedding cake favorite made of butter, cream, and eggs. It is very soft and easy to flavor with chocolate, fruit or liquor, but should only be used at indoor events. Ganache: A chocolate, butter and cream sauce or filling that will melt in the heat. Chocopan: This is basically a chocolate version of fondant-but better tasting. Marzipan: This almond based substance can be used as a filling or to make colored shapes to put on the cake. Royal Icing: A very hard icing that is used for decorations that need to be solid-such as lace. Decorations: Basket weave: This looks like a wicker basket. Swiss dotted: Random dots are placed all over the cake. Piping: Lines are made on the cake with a pastry bag and tip. Pulled or Spun Sugar: Sugar is cooked until it is liquid and then shaped into bows, ribbons or thin strands. This must be done on site because it will not transport.
